Drobo Complements Time Machine function
of Mac Leopard OS X

All direct attach Drobo products including Drobo and DroboPro are 100% compatible with OS X Leopard’s Time Machine backup application. In order to function, Time Machine requires an external disk such as Drobo.

How it works

Connect your Drobo directly to your Mac and choose your Drobo as Time Machine’s backup disk. Once the Mac is connected to a Drobo, backups are transparent. Designed to automatically backup files, Time Machine keeps a continual chain of backups over time, allowing users to easily recover individual files or an entire crashed drive.

The longer Time Machine is used, the more data storage it requires. Unlike other protected storage arrays, Drobo uses patent-pending BeyondRAID software that is designed for non-technical users who demand both reliability and instant expandability without the complexity of traditional RAID.

Time Machine manages your backups so you don't have to, while Drobo manages your storage, so you don't have to.

NOTE: The 10.5.1 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac. This enhancement is required to use Drobo with Time Machine.
